Guests begin with an engaging Arusha town tour and a hands-on coffee plantation experience before embarking on the climb through Arusha National Park’s diverse ecosystems from lush montane forests teeming with giraffes, monkeys, and buffalo to the dramatic moorlands leading to the summit.
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to Arusha (about 1 hour). Afternoon Arusha town tour visit the central market, Maasai Market for souvenirs, Cultural Heritage Centre, and a short city orientation. Evening briefing on the climb.
Overnight: Mid-range hotel in Arusha (e.g., similar to Gold Crest or equivalent) on Bed & Breakfast.
Morning coffee plantation tour near the base of Meru (hands-on experience from bean to cup, village walk, and tasting). Afternoon rest or optional light walk in Arusha. Gear check and packing.
Overnight: Same hotel in Arusha.
Transfer to Arusha National Park. Hike through montane forest with possible wildlife (giraffes, monkeys, buffaloes).
Overnight: Miriakamba Hut (full board on the mountain).
Steeper climb through heather and moorland zones. Great views and acclimatization.
Overnight: Saddle Hut.
Early start to Socialist Peak (4,562m) for sunrise. Return to Saddle Hut for breakfast, then descend to Miriakamba Hut.
Overnight: Miriakamba Hut.
Final descent to Momella Gate. Certificate presentation. Transfer back to Arusha. Afternoon free or optional short Arusha National Park walking safari/canoe. Departure or extension to safari/Kilimanjaro.
Overnight: Arusha hotel (if needed) on Bed & Breakfast.

The dry season (June–October) is ideal for wildlife viewing as animals concentrate around water sources and roads are passable. January–February is also excellent. The short rains (November–December) and long rains (March–May) have fewer crowds and greener landscapes but can have wetter conditions.
